After the recent discovery of the serious under-representation of VALIS on this blog, getting them to participate in our guest mix feature seemed like the right thing to do. Chicago industrial/EBM force are set to follow a stream of face-melting demos and remixes with an EP coming out soonish on Something Cold.
As for the mix, they preferred not to give away the tracklist. The perfectly fitting combination of disco, house, 80′s synth pop and contemporary industrial gems reflects the band’s own aesthetic quite well. And if the inclusion of songs by the likes of Depeche Mode and White Car doesn’t come as a surprise, a late eighties’ sleazy pop hit featured towards the end of the mix just might. But not only does it not hurt the flow of the mix, it actually adds a certain charm to it. Without further ado, we present you with VALIS’ exquisite mix:
