Zola Jesus posted a new Nika+Rory song on her Twitter today. “Rory and I are giving twitterworld a little gift to kick off the week of SXSW festivities”. Why, thank you. That’s a nice way to start a day. Or to “kick off the week of SXSW festivities”… If you’re going.

This dude makes some damn fine chillwave fan videos. This time he takes on Washed Out‘s new instrumental ‘Track #7′. The song is featured on the new tour-only CD-R.

PolO is a new band from Michigan with very little info on their Myspace page and only one song up. But it’s a good one. AND there’s a cool remix of the track by the rising act Coyote Clean Up. This is how you turn a short psych pop song into an eight-minute dreamy chillwave gem:
Seems like we can expect a follow-up to HEALTH‘s 2008 remix album HEALTH//DISCO. ‘In Heat’ from last year’s excellent In Color got remixed by Brooklyn duo Javelin, who turned the song into a sunny pop jam. Speaking of Javelin, their debut album No Mas is coming out next month on Luaka Bop, download the track ‘Oh! Centra’ below as well as that ‘In Heat’ remix.
New video for ‘I Just Want to See Your Face’ by Norwegian shoegazers Serena-Maneesh. The track is taken from their forthcoming sophomore album S-M 2: Abyss In B Minor.
Prefix just premiered another track from Growing‘s upcoming album PUMPS. Stream and/or download ‘Camera 84′ below, and make sure to grab ‘Hormone‘ if you haven’t already. Our Vancouver favs Terror Bird are releasing a new album this spring and we got to premiere a track from it! The self-titled LP is due out in late April or May through Night People and ADAGIO 830. Download the gloomy ‘Cemetaries’ below. Also, the duo is currently putting together a Europe tour so feel free to get in touch with them if you can help putting on some shows.
Watch the new video for Real Estate‘s ‘Suburban Dogs’, off of last year’s fine self-titled debut. Directed by Richard Law. The clip features the band playing an office Christmas party. Sweet!
Here’s a nice fan video for ‘I Saw Eternity the Other Night’ by Lee Weather (another moniker of Washed Out‘s Ernest Green). The video was made by Alan Jensen using clips from a Jean-Jacques Beineix film ‘Diva’.
Not another amateur fan video. Well, it is a fan video, but it looks really good. (As in it features a scene from a NEW film. No nostalgia element this time!) The clip is made for ‘In New Jersey’, the great new track by Julian Lynch. “Listening to one of my songs takes exactly as much time as it would for your baby to fall out of a window while you are having sex!”
