Fatima Al Qadiri‘s new GSX Remixes EP collects different takes on songs from her remarkable Genre-Specific Xperience EP, released on UNO NYC last year. Stream the remixes by Kingdom, Ikonika and Girl Unit below. (A few other have popped up on YouTube.) GSX Remixes EP is now available from iTunes/Boomkat/etc. As FACT points out, the Thunder Horse video for ‘D-Medley‘, my favorite along with Tabor Robak’s ‘Vatican Vibes‘, is now online. Do watch it in full-screen and HD.

SHARE2 CONFERENCE

Monday, April 23rd, 2012

This Thursday we’re going to Belgrade, Serbia to attend SHARE2 Conference that takes place from April 26 to 28. The conference revolves around the themes of Internet activism and social changes in relation to new technologies. Along with an impressive program of lectures and workshops in the field society, technology, Internet, music and new media, the conference also features a sick music program in some of the finest clubs and venues in Belgrade.
One of the acts we’re most excited about is Fatima Al Qadiri, who will present the visual works that accompany her outstanding Genre-Specific Xperience EP. SHARE by Night program brings some of the most interesting names in electronic music right now – most notably, a back to back session from Nguzunguzu, Kingdom and Total Freedom, and a live performance by Actress, hot on the heels of his excellent new album R.I.P. We’re also looking forward to performances by the likes of Tim Exile, 2562, Roska, Redshape, DMX Krew, Spectral Empire and some upcoming local talents.
Some of the speakers from the day program include Caroline Drucker (from Soundcloud), Renaat Vandepapeliere of the cult R&S label, Quinn Norton of Wired, Peter Sunde (The Pirate Bay), Daniel Domscheit-Berg (of OpenLeaks and formerly of WikiLeaks), Katitza Rodriguez (Electronic Frontier Foundation), Rasmus Fleischer (Piratbyrån) and many more.
Limited number of tickets was distributed through various competitions that are now closed. BUT! You can follow most of the SHARE programs via live stream AND you can also participate in Tim Exile’s Sound.SHARE project. For more info and news follow the SHARE blog.
