NC GUEST MIX#56: LED ER EST

When commissioning a mix from a band usually labeled as coldwave and minimal synth, you probably don’t expect them to get back to you with a chilled out summer mix, right? Well, that’s exactly what we got from the NYC trio Led Er Est, but not to worry, it’s not your typical summer mix. ‘Summer Beltdriver’ takes you on a fourty-minute journey through a world where italo disco, experimental electronics, Russian post-punk, German pop and minimal synth all live happily together and not even a pitched down Jean Paul Gaultier song (?!) can disrupt their harmony. ”All scratchy vinyl mix on belt drive turntables”, said Led Er Est’s Samuel Kklovenhoof, hence the name of the mix.
