Denmark’s dream pop duo Syntaks have a new video, for the track ‘Blue Sunshine’ from their debut album Ylajali. The clip was directed by Syntaks’ Jakob Skott and the woman in the video is Anna Cecilia, the other half of the duo. By the way, that last video was pretty nice too.

Physical release drops in March, pre-order it here. Tomorrow, in a Year is a collaborative effort of The Knife and Berlin-based electronic acts Planningtorock (instrumentals) and Mt. Sims (melodies). It also features three different voices – an opera singer, an actor/singer and a pop singer, as well as Icelandic percussionist Hjorleifur Jonsson. Listen to the opera and read some first impressions here. Oh, and download one of the tracks, ‘Colouring of Pigeons‘ if you haven’t already.
People behind the Brooklny/Köln-based project How to Dress Well & Cokc Dokc make some sort of lo-fi spacey and droney layered r&b music. Sounds interesting, yes. Their ‘Lover’s Start (Desert Voyage)’ was one of the few songs from the new Friendship Bracelet comp that immediately caught my attention. Turns out – we got a link to download their entier catalog in our inbox the other day. Here are some of our picks.
Watch the video for ’11 Years on (demo)’ on Vimeo. Their EPs are available as free downloads from How to Dress Well blog, which is “way better” than How to Dress Well Myspace.
The new EP by Lemonade is coming out this March on True Panther/Matador. This is their first release since 2008′s excellent self-titled debut. Judging by the first track they’re giving away, Pure Moods EP marks a change in sound. ‘Lifted’ should make for a fine soundtrack to chilling out on a beach, or something like that.
Pre-order Pure Moodshere. There’s also a special offer – “all 3 new True Panther 12″ EP’s, from Lemonade, Tanlines, and Janka Nabay for just $21.” + “instant download of a song from each EP, and an exclusive remix for each artist.” Neat.
The twee shoegaze/noise pop cult favourites Black Tambourine published a new entry on their Myspace journal today, saying “coming soon… new. stuff.” !!! I went over to the Slumberland site immediately to check if there’s any info on that, so here’s the deal: “March 30 will bring the long-awaited return to vinyl for Black Tambourine. This is no mere reissue, though; we’ve added unreleased songs, new liner notes and a trove of never-before-seen photos of the band, all wrapped up in a spiffy gatefold sleeve. Simply entitled Black Tambourine, this will be one of the unmissable releases of the year.” Not exactly sure this can be reffered to as new stuff, but hey this sounds great too! Some old gems:
One of the best tapes of 2009 finally gets a vinyl reissue AND a video for one of the tracks. Yep, we’re talking about Matrix Metals and their Flamingo Breeze. Here’s a video for ‘Flamingo Breeze, Part 4′, directed by Ivan Gaytan.
First Rate People are a seven-piece from Toronto (anything less than that is probably considered a solo project in Canada) that got a lot of attention recently for their incredibly catchy R&B-influenced indie pop hit ‘Girls’ Night’. And we got a mix from them!
The FRP guest mix covers the ground from soul to electronic and indie pop music. It’s also geographically eclectic – from Africa through the USA and Europe all the way to Iceland. Rrrright:

Everyone loves Beach House these days, eh? Toronto’s Little Girls did a cover of ’10 Mile Stereo’, one of the best tracks from Teen Dream. McIntyre and Wilson keep the arpeggio-laden guitar part but of course add some fuzz and turn it into a noise pop gem. Enjoy.
Dazzle Ships are Tyler and Hatii, a boy/girl duo from California who make catchy lo-fi pop and post-punk jams. They’ve sent over a couple of demo tracks we liked so here you go.
