2010, Graveface recordsPeriphery is the name of the upcoming debut full-length by The Seven Fields of Aphelion. She is one of the members of Black Moth Super Rainbow, but don’t let that mislead you. The Seven Fields’ solo work doesn’t sound too much like BMSR’s experimental pysch-pop – it’s calmer and more ambient. The album will be available on February 16th from Graveface Records. Download Mountain Mary below. You can stream two more songs and the sampler of the whole record on her Myspace.

This is a feature on the blog where, instead of just the regular monthly NC mixtapes, you can hear mixes that some of our favorite artists put together for us. The fourth edition brings you Freddy Ruppert of Former Ghosts.
Couldn’t have found a better fit for a jolly Christmas mix. Pairing This Mortal Coil with Blink 182 is a bizarre choice, but one that kinda works oddly enough and Rupert delivers a truly wonderful collection of songs. The overall tone of the mix is depressing and at times borders on pathetic, reflecting his own musical tendencies. Check it out for yourselves:

Check out Turzi‘s remix of Love Like a Sunset from the bonus disc of Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix. The Phoenix original already had a krautrock feel to it so it’s interesting to hear this song remixed by an electronic/krautrock outfit. Well, instead of making it sound totally krauty, the fellow Frenchmen turn the song into a techno jam. Ha!
2009, Floridas DyingMiami-based garage rockers The Electric Bunnies have a new album out on Floridas Dying. It’s their first full length. Get your dose of lo-fi psych pop and rock’n'roll here. Btw, the 12″ gate fold record includes “a playable board game complete with playing cards, game pieces and game instructions.” Surprisingly cute for a garage band!

The opening track from Liars‘ upcoming album Sisterworld is now available for download! The album is due out early 2010. Will it be more like Drum’s Not Dead or more like Liars? I hope it’s the former, but this track sounds like it could go either way. We’ll just have to wait and see.

2009, Rough TradeBeen waiting on this for some time now – we finally get to hear new material from German minimal techno producer Hendrick Weber, better known as Pantha du Prince. You might have heard that he’s signed to Rough Trade Records for his new album Black Noise, which is to be released in February 2010. It features collaborations with Noah Lennox a.k.a. Panda Bear and Tyler Pope of !!! and LCD Soundsystem. The Splendour is the first single from Black Noise and you can download it below. UPDATE: Download the Panda Bear track as well! It’s fucking epic. I guess GvsB weren’t exaggerating. [via] Read more on the upcoming album here. Seems it might be as good as 2007′s exquisite This Bliss. Or even better!
